Ribbon Cutting for CATEL - AZ 1st JV with American
Company
Omni Communications, Inc., the founding partner
of Caspian American Telecommunications LLC (CATEL), celebrated the
opening of CATEL in 1998 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The ribbon cutting
ceremony featured Azerbaijan President Heydar Aliyev, and CATEL
was recognized as the first telecommunications joint venture between
the Government of Azerbaijan and an American company.
Mr. Yavalar in Africa - Nigeria and Namibia
Mr. Derya Yavalar, Omni's President and CEO, traveled
to Africa in August 2001 to explore new business opportunities.
During his trip to Africa, Mr. Yavalar had the opportunity to meet
Nigeria's President Olusegun Obasanjo, and Namibia's President Dr.
Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma.
Mr. Stavrakas in Greece - ITCB Conference
Mr. Spyros Stavrakas, Omni's Vice President of Business
Development, traveled to Greece in November 2001 to speak at the
Initiative for Technology Cooperation with the Balkans (ITCB) Conference,
"IT Technologies: Business Opportunities in the Balkans",
in Thessaloniki, Greece. Mr. Stavrakas presented Omni's strategy
for creating an IT Village in the Balkans working in partnership
with local companies.

Omni Communications and
Korean Telecom Telecommunications Project

Omni and KT sign a $7 million guarantee for
Azerbaijan project
In December 2001, Omni Communications signed a strategic
agreement of cooperation with Korean Telecom to develop telecommunications
infrastructure in Azerbaijan. As a result of this new working relationship,
Korean Telecom arranged for its affiliate Hyundai Information Technology
to provide a $7 million guarantee for the project in Azerbaijan.
Omni and the University of Maryland meet with
Egyptian Delegation for Distance Education
Omni Communications, Inc. and the University of
Maryland met with an Egyptian Delegation to discuss developing Distance
Education Programs. The Delegation was visiting the United States
in the Fall of 2001 to explore opportunities for creating Distance
Education Programs, as part of a USAID program.

Derya Yavalar as a Speaker at
IT Conference in Egypt

Mr. Yavalar in Egypt - IT Conference
Mr. Derya Yavalar,
Omni's President and CEO, traveled to Egypt in May 2002 to participate
in an IT Conference, sponsored by the U.S. and Egyptian Governments,
the Baltimore-Alexandria Sister City Committee, and the Alexandria
Business Association. During the trip, Omni met with U.S. and Egyptian
Government Officials, as well as with potential Egyptian business
partners. As part of the Conference, Mr. Yavalar presented Omni's
capabilities and the company's plans for developing a project to
provide telecommunications infrastructure as part of a distance
education and telemedicine initiative.
